We nurture you, as you nourish your baby

Our Lactation Team provides services from pregnancy into postpartum, regardless of the pregnancy outcome. Lactation support starts with prenatal lactation education in office or via Telehealth. In the first few days after birth we meet you where you are at for early postpartum lactation support. Follow-up visits are scheduled as-needed at Nursing Nook or in office for the duration of the nursing relationship.

The Lactation Team provides: 

• Prenatal Lactation Education
  
  • ​One prenatal visit at Daisy's Place or via Telehealth for lactation education and planning for feeding goals
    
• Postpartum Lactation and Infant Feeding Support
  
  • ​One to three visits within the first two weeks after birth in your home or another safe community location. Care includes: 
    • ​Infant weight checks and weighted feeds
    • Support with positioning and latching
    • Support with alternative feeding methods
    • Infant oral assessments
    • Chest tissue assessments as needed
    • Support with navigating lactation and baby feeding challenges 
    • Support with feeding plans and feeding goals

• Drop In Nursing Nook
  
  • ​Ongoing lactation and infant feeding support in a group setting
  • Baby scale available for weight checks and weighted feeds
    
  • Peer connection and support from other folks feeding babies

Responsive

Whether you are nursing your baby(ies), supplementing with human milk or formula, exclusively bottle feeding, or a combination of all of the above, we are here to give you support, information, guidance and confidence in your feeding relationship.

Individual client visits, telehealth calls and text support are provided on an as-needed basis during the early days after birth and at Nursing Nook for the duration of the nursing relationship. ​

We provide families with visits from International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs) who screen for,  prevent and treat infant feeding and lactation difficulties as they arise.  ​

Our support services are available to you until your baby weans or transitions exclusively to solids.
